marked for Him

Lion and Lamb. This is the tattoo I'm working on getting. When the day of persecution comes, I will be marked for him. There will be no doubting where I stand. There is not just one meaning behind this, but several.

:::the Lion of Judah - Jesus, the Root of David, has triumphed, the King of all. (Rev 5)
:::the Lamb that is Slain - everyone will fall down before Him and worship Him. The Lamb, Jesus, is worthy to take the scroll and break the seals. (Rev 5)
:::the Passover Lamb - was sacrificed and its blood was smeared over the doorposts so the death angel knew to pass by their house. They were covered by the blood of the lamb, the symbolical blood of Jesus.
:::the Sheep - Jesus calls us, the sheep, by name and leads us out and we know His voice. (John 10)
:::the Lost Sheep - "if a man (Jesus) owns 100 sheep (us) and one (you? me?) wanders off, will he not leave the 99 to save the one lost sheep?"(Matt 18)
:::the Gathered Lambs - "he(Jesus) gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart." (Isaiah 40:11)

I wanted something that makes a real statement for myself. Many wear a cross that means little to them. Many honor the crucifix, but my Jesus isn't still hanging on that cross. We celebrate His birth, but he's not a baby in a manager anymore. This for me covers it all.

People Get Ready - Misty Edwards
I can hear the rhythm of the Lion of the tribe of Judah
He's doing a new thing so we're singing a new song
he's not a baby in a manger anymore He's not a broken man on a cross
He didn't stay in the grave and He's not staying in heaven forever
He's alive He's alive He's alive

People get ready! Jesus is coming!

People walking around with their fingers in the their ears saying
"La-du-du-du-du I don't want to hear the sound of the coming King"

Once again I'm going to shake everything that can be shaken
Once again I'm going to break everything that can be broken
